The National Development Association (NDA) announces that its Chairman and Chairman of the Coalition Taskforce and Mediation Committee (CTMC), Professor Yerro Mballow, will travel to Istanbul, Turkey, next week to attend the Istanbul International Model United Nations as rapporteur.
Prof. Mballow was invited by the Istanbul International Model United Nations organisers to attend and share his knowledge and experience on global social and political issues. He is expected to participate throughout the conference, which will run from 18 to 28 June 2026.
As rapporteur, Prof. Mballow will document proceedings, synthesize key discussions, and present summary reports to conference participants. The role requires analytical rigor and neutrality in capturing the substance of debates on governance, diplomacy, and international cooperation.
Prof. Mballow currently leads the Taskforce and Mediation Committee involved in coalition talks with opposition parties and movements ahead of The Gambia’s 5 December 2026 presidential election. He has broad expertise in social behaviour, leadership, and development, and is recognized for his mastery in analyzing social and political issues globally.
His academic and professional background spans education, journalism, public administration, and development policy, with advanced studies in The Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, and India. He is also a published author, political analyst, climate change activist, and seasoned educator.
