Blue Ocean Properties Rejects Tourism Boss’s Claim of Buying Jammeh Property

Blue Ocean Properties Ltd. has strongly denied allegations made under oath by the Director General of the Gambia Tourism Board (GTBoard) that the company purchased property previously owned by former President Yahya Jammeh.

In a press statement issued today, the company described the claim, made during the Director General’s testimony before a Parliamentary Committee examining the Janneh Commission findings, as “entirely false” and “unfounded.”

Blue Ocean Properties clarified that its land in Tanji was lawfully allocated by the GTBoard within the designated Tourism Development Area. The company emphasized that the property has never been linked to Yahya Jammeh or any state-owned asset connected to the former leader.

“We applied through proper procedures, paid the required GMD 4.8 million development levy to the GTBoard, and have developed the site under full regulatory oversight,” the statement read.

The company further asserted that it has never acquired any property from the State, receivers, commissions, or agents acting on behalf of former President Jammeh.

Blue Ocean Properties challenged the Director General to produce evidence supporting his allegation and expressed hope that the claim was a genuine error that would be promptly corrected.

The firm reaffirmed its commitment to ethical and transparent operations, stating it has no interest in any assets formerly belonging to Yahya Jammeh or the State.

The rebuttal comes amid continued parliamentary scrutiny of assets and transactions linked to the 22-year rule of the former president.
