Ukraine’s anti-corruption agencies, NABU and SAP, said Friday they were conducting sanctioned searches at the office of President Zelensky’s top aide, Andriy Yermak, a powerful but divisive figure accused by critics of accumulating influence and sidelining opponents. Earlier this month, investigators uncovered a $100-million kickback scheme in the energy sector, fueling public outrage amid Russian attacks on the country’s power grid. Yermak also leads negotiations with the US on revising a controversial 28-point peace plan seen as favoring Moscow. Retired professor of Strategy and International law from the US Naval War College, Jim Armstead, shares his insights.
