The Rokousu brothers of Nadogo, Macuata, are set to expand their family farming business after receiving a tractor through the Ministry of Agriculture, Waterways and Sugar Industry’s Farm Mechanisation Programme.

Saula Tavokai, Atunaisa Sela and Reverend Lepani Raunu own 50 acres at Boca Settlement, with 10 acres currently under crops including dalo, rice, cassava, watermelon and vegetables.

The new tractor will help reduce labour and costs, allowing the brothers to cultivate more land and diversify production. They also plan to offer land preparation services to nearby farmers, creating an additional income source and supporting agriculture in their community.

The tractor was handed over by Agriculture Minister Hon. Tomasi Tunabuna on July 24.
