SODELPA duo plead not guilty

SODELPA’S two Suva constituency officials have pleaded not guilty to threatening the party’s general secretary, Viliame Takayawa, in 2024.

Amoni Kepa and Apenisa Turaga had their pleas recorded before Magistrate Charles Ratakele in court yesterday.

The pair allegedly threatened Mr Takayawa in the party’s office on February 22, last year.

Police prosecutor Sharmila Lata told the court the men did not make admissions in their caution interview.

Bail for the men has been extended and the case adjourned to November 18.

In a separate case, Mr Takayawa is accused of threatening Mr Kepa and Mr Turaga by allegedly uttering the words, ‘Get out of my office’ on the same occasion.

He will have his plea recorded on September 4.

All three men face a charge of criminal intimidation.
