NEWLY crowned Punjas Fiji Miss Tebara 2025, Miss Gulam Supermarket Laisani Blake, believes the title comes with honour, responsibility, and high expectations.
The 22-year-old nurse of Vunimono, Tailevu, is known to be a vibrant nurse whose compassion, grace, and purpose light up not only the hospital wards but the carnival stage as she did on crowning night in traditional attire.
“It’s a surreal feeling, but I’m honoured to be crowned and to be given this new role,” she said.
She said the journey to the crown was challenging and tested her mentally and emotionally.
“Showing up on stage and trying to deliver the best of myself to meet my sponsor’s expectations and my family and those who supported me along the way.”
“It got me mentally drained at one point where I would sulk in my room, but the only thing that kept me going was prayer.”
Despite the demands of the pageant, she said the experience has helped shape her character.
“I’m grateful for everything I went through because it taught me a lot and it has made me the person I am right now.”
When asked about her plans, Ms Blake said she would be back at work tomorrow doing what she loves. Ms Blake, who is a nurse at the Nausori Health Centre, also shared a strong message for young people.
“Circumstances that we come across in life cannot be controlled, but one thing we can control is the choices we make.”
“Bad choices lead to regrets, while good choices lead to rewards.
“The choice that you make now determines your future, so choose wisely.”
