Koya dismisses drug claims, reports matter to Police

Opposition Member of Parliament Faiyaz Koya has confirmed that a report has been lodged with Police regarding allegations made by a known drug dealer, who reportedly claimed that some former FijiFirst Members of Parliament were involved in the drug trade.

Koya has strongly rejected the claims, describing them as “untruthful,” “nonsense,” and “absolute garbage.”

He stressed that such allegations are serious and should be properly investigated by the relevant authorities.

Meanwhile, Parliament held a voluntary drug testing exercise yesterday, where Members of Parliament were given the option to undergo screening.

Koya confirmed that he, along with other opposition MPs, took part in the testing process and are now awaiting the results, expressing confidence in a clean outcome.

He added that with the matter now formally reported, it is up to law enforcement authorities to thoroughly assess and address the allegations.
