4.6 magnitude earthquake felt in Labasa

A moderate earthquake was felt in parts of Vanua Levu on Thursday evening, according to the Fiji Seismology Unit.

In a statement, the Unit confirmed that a magnitude 4.6 earthquake occurred at 8:10:51pm on November 13, 2025.

The quake struck at a depth of 15 kilometres, about 63 kilometres northwest of Naduri Village in Macuata.

“Felt reports were received from Labasa,” the statement said.

Authorities have assured the public that the earthquake does not pose any immediate tsunami threat to the region.

The Fiji Seismology Unit continues to monitor the event and will issue further updates if necessary.
