3FIR Soldiers Earn Black Belts

Twenty-nine soldiers from the 3FIR Rapid Response Infantry Company Group (RRICG) have officially graduated from Red Belt to Black Belt in Hapkido during a ceremony held last Friday.

The achievement marks a significant milestone in their combat training and professional development within the unit.

Officiating at the event, Battalion Second-in-Command Major Vakaenei commended the instructors for their commitment to building the soldiers’ discipline, confidence, character, and operational skills.

He also congratulated the graduates for their dedication and effort in reaching the advanced level.

He reminded the soldiers that the promotion represents more than technical ability, highlighting the importance of sound judgment and discipline in their roles.

He noted that “haste can create error, but patience, discipline, and sound judgment lead to success.”

The graduates were further advised that attaining a black belt comes with increased responsibility, higher expectations in conduct, and a duty to serve as role models within the force.

The upgraded capability is expected to further strengthen 3FIR and RRICG’s effectiveness as a multi-role unit in support of civil authorities and broader security operations.
