MBABANE – Award-winning Eswatini author Stanley Mkhwanazi is set to transform the local literary landscape by introducing an internationally recognised Christian writing programme.
This initiative comes as a direct response to his historic success at the African Christian Authors Book Award (ACABA), where he became the first Eswatini author to be nominated for and win an award at the prestigious continental platform hosted by Christian Literature Communications (CLC) Kenya.
Mkhwanazi’s acclaimed book, ‘Redefine Your Worth’, secured victory in the Christian Living category and was named runner-up for the overall Book of the Year. These achievements established a strong Eswatini presence in the African Christian literature scene and inspired the author to empower aspiring local voices to reach similar global standards.
To bring this vision to life, Mkhwanazi has partnered with CLC Kenya and the Mind Food and Soul Organisation, led by Nelton Mondlane, to launch the Eswatini Sapphire Writing Class. This 14 weeks programme is designed to guide aspiring Christian authors through the entire process, from initial concept to a completed manuscript. CLC Kenya, which operates in 22 African countries, is the organization behind the continental awards that recently honored Mkhwanazi. Through this new partnership, their specialised writing programme is being introduced to Eswatini for the very first time.
Mkhwanazi commented, “The journey to publishing a book can be overwhelming, and you definitely need someone to guide you. My experience writing my book inspired me to support local authors, which is why I was excited to see this initiative come to fruition”.
The Eswatini Sapphire Writing Class is specifically intended for aspiring Christian authors who wish to share their message through a book. Participants will receive weekly mentorship, accountability, constructive feedback, and practical guidance on writing techniques to help them complete a high-quality manuscript ready for publication.
The programme will run for fourteen weeks, from 10 February to 26 May 2026, with sessions held every Thursday at 7 pm. To ensure accessibility for participants across the country and beyond, all classes will be conducted online. The programme fee is E2 350 as a one-time payment or E850 per month over a three-month period. This initiative marks a significant step in nurturing Christian authorship in Eswatini and empowering local voices to share their stories with the rest of Africa and the world.
