… EITF 2026 brings local artists closer beyond the stage
… Artists build bonds while discovering new opportunities
… Ngwenya Glass tour creates space for creative exchange

NGWENYA– Away from the microphones, performances and individual spotlights, a different kind of magic unfolded as Eswatini’s artists came together not as competitors, but as one creative family.
About 25 local artists gathered at Ngwenya Glass on Friday as part of activities leading up to the 2026 Eswatini International Trade Fair (EITF), creating an opportunity for musicians, DJs, comedians and other entertainers to connect, share experiences and strengthen relationships ahead of the nine-day event.
The gathering formed part of EITF 2026’s theme, “Unlocking Green Economy Opportunities for Sustainable Trade Promotion,” and offered the artists more than a lesson in sustainability.
For artists who often meet briefly backstage or at different events, the tour created room for genuine interaction and networking.
The creative community was seen exchanging conversations, laughter and ideas as they explored Ngwenya Glass under the guidance of administrator Zethu Nkhosi.
Nkhosi introduced the artists to the glass-making process, showing them how recycled bottles are transformed into colourful handmade products. The experience gave the artists a shared point of connection while also exposing them to a local business model built around creativity and sustainability.
The atmosphere reflected a growing sense of brotherhood and sisterhood within Eswatini’s entertainment industry, where established and emerging creatives had an opportunity to interact outside the usual performance environment.
With more than 40 acts lined up for EITF 2026, and over 70 per cent of the entertainment programme dedicated to local artists, the trade fair is creating a major platform for the country’s creative sector.
The artists’ gathering also highlighted the importance of collaboration. While each performer will bring their own sound and identity to the EITF stage, the collective experience showed that the strength of the entertainment industry can also lie in artists supporting one another.
As EITF 2026 approaches, the Ngwenya Glass visit offered a reminder that behind every performance is a community of creatives whose connections can help build a stronger, more united entertainment industry.
