Mbabane : The Hon. Minister for Natural Resources and Energy HRH Prince Lonkhokhela has reassured the public that fuel supply is stable nationwide, despite global supply chain constraints. HRH Prince Lonkhokhela stated that efforts are underway with oil companies to ensure continuous fuel availability.
The increase in demand is due to anticipated price increases, not shortages. The Government has use the Fuel Strategic Oil Reserve Fund to cushion the impact, and a Strategic Oil Reserve Facility is being developed for long-term fuel security.
The Hon. Minister has warned against panic buying and stockpiling, citing safety risks and potential disruptions to distribution networks. “The situation is under control and is being closely monitored,” said the Minister, urging citizens to remain calm.
The public is advised to avoid actions that could disrupt fuel distribution, and to refrain from storing fuel in non-approved containers.
