At least 1,205 civilians have been killed in Iran since the US and Israel began attacking the country last Saturday, according to the US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA).

The total, which includes 194 children, is as of five pm ET yesterday, HRANA said, meaning that the number of people killed in this war has surpassed the number seen in last summer’s 12-day war between Iran, Israel and the US.

During that conflict, some 1,190 people were killed, according to HRANA’s estimates. The rights group did not differentiate between military and civilian casualties in this figure.

In the 24 hours between Friday and Saturday evening ET, several facilities protected under international humanitarian law were damaged by strikes, HRANA reported.

These include a girls’ school in the city of Khomein, a medical clinic in Zanganeh, a residential home in Eslamshahr and a desalination plant in Qeshm, the rights group said.
