Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani
The Supreme National Security Council of Iran officially announced on Tuesday evening the assassination of its Secretary-General, Ali Larijani.
The confirmation follows an earlier announcement by the Israeli military claiming the targeted killings of both Larijani and the commander of the Basij forces in Tehran, Gholam-Reza Soleimani.
Commenting on the operation, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu characterized the assassinations of Larijani and Soleimani as a strategic move to destabilize the Iranian government. He stated that “Israel is working to assist the Iranian people in taking action against the regime.”
Netanyahu added, “We are determined to achieve victory and are nearing a moment where we will stand as a global superpower alongside the United States.”
