Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly departed Cairo International Airport for New York on Sunday morning to lead Egypt’s delegation at the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), following a directive from President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
Madbouly is scheduled to deliver speeches and statements during various events and meetings held within the framework of the assembly, the Egyptian cabinet stated. He will also hold high-level bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the session, alongside discussions with heads of international organisations and representatives of prominent global companies across various sectors.
The 81st ordinary session of the UNGA opened on September 8 under the theme: “Restoring Trust, Managing Transformation: A United Nations in the Service of All”, and will continue until September 7, 2027. The session is chaired by Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister, Khalilur Rahman.
The General Debate will begin on September 22 and run until September 28, featuring the participation of heads of state and government, foreign ministers, and senior officials from member states. A series of high-level meetings, events, and bilateral engagements related to the assembly’s work will take place between September 22 and 29.
