The joint Egyptian-Turkish air exercise Anatolian Eagle 2026 concluded after several days at a Turkish air base with the participation of the air forces of Egypt, Turkey and Azerbaijan, alongside an airborne early warning aircraft from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

The closing ceremony was attended by Egyptian Air Force Commander Lieutenant General Amr Abdel Rahman Sakr, Major General Sherif Gouda al-Araishi, Head of the Armed Forces Training Authority,, and senior military officials from the participating countries.

The exercise included joint sorties by multi-role fighter aircraft, with training focused on strikes against simulated hostile targets, protection of vital sites, counter-drone operations, aerial refuelling and close air support for ground forces.

According to the Egyptian Armed Forces, the exercise forms part of a broader programme of joint military training with friendly countries aimed at strengthening military cooperation and improving the operational capabilities of the Egyptian and Turkish air forces.
