Santo Domingo.- Tourism Minister David Collado delivered 38 dump trucks to municipalities and municipal districts with a tourism focus as part of a sustainability initiative aimed at improving environmental management in popular destinations. The delivery, held at the Quisqueya Stadium in Santo Domingo, involved an investment of RD$107.2 million and was attended by local mayors and officials.

Minister Collado announced that a second round of truck deliveries will follow, with a similar investment, bringing the total program funding to over RD$250 million. Officials from the Dominican Federation of Municipalities (Fedomu) and the Dominican Federation of Municipal Districts (Fedodim) praised the initiative, calling it historic and an example of effective support for municipalities that rely heavily on tourism.

Among the municipalities benefiting are Barahona, Samaná, Constanza, Las Terrenas, Jarabacoa, Puerto Plata, and La Romana, while municipal districts such as Boca Chica, Río San Juan, La Caleta, Verón, and Punta Cana also received trucks.
