Labor Ministry restricts restaurant operations to deliveries amid Storm Melissa

Santo Domingo.- The National Association of Hotels and Restaurants (ASONAHORES) announced that, following measures issued by the Ministry of Labor, restaurant operations in provinces under red alert due to Tropical Storm Melissa will be limited to delivery services only, with establishments remaining closed to the public.

The Ministry clarified that in shopping malls, only supermarkets, pharmacies, and commercial banks will be allowed to operate, while all other businesses must remain closed until weather conditions improve.

Authorities stressed the importance of full compliance with these regulations, emphasizing that the protection of human life remains the government’s top priority. Citizens and businesses were urged to cooperate and stay informed through official channels, including the Emergency Operations Center (COE), as the country continues to face the storm’s effects.
