Dominican Republic offers free Metro, cable car, and OMSA service during Santo Domingo 2026 Games

Santo Domingo.- Public transportation users will be able to ride the Santo Domingo Metro, the cable car, and OMSA buses free of charge during the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games, scheduled for July 24 to August 8.

The measure is part of a mobility plan aimed at facilitating travel for athletes, officials, volunteers, and spectators while reducing traffic congestion in the capital during the event.

Organizers also announced that the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center and Parque del Este will operate as pedestrian-only zones, with peripheral parking areas and shuttle connections to improve access to competition venues.

The Games will bring together more than 6,000 athletes from 37 countries, featuring 40 sports and 57 disciplines in an edition that coincides with the 100th anniversary of the Central American and Caribbean Games.
