Santo Domingo.- The General Directorate of Migration (DGM) has extended a measure that eases entry requirements for tourists from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, the United States, the United Kingdom, and all European Union countries. Travelers from these nations will be allowed to enter the Dominican Republic with a valid passport—without the usual requirement of six months’ minimum validity.

The extension, outlined in a memorandum tied to Resolution DGM-01-2024, also applies to foreigners from other countries who hold the necessary documentation to enter any of the listed nations.

According to the DGM, the measure reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening international tourism and streamlining immigration procedures. It will remain in effect for one year, from December 1, 2025, to December 31, 2026.

Authorities emphasized that the initiative aims to reduce entry barriers and expedite the arrival process for visitors from key tourism markets.
