A 26-year-old American man was arrested at Las Americas International Airport after drug detection dogs discovered suspected marijuana in his luggage.
A canine unit alerted authorities to narcotic substances inside the passenger’s suitcase. The man had arrived on a commercial flight from New York, United States.
In the presence of a prosecutor, authorities opened the luggage and found four packages of alleged marijuana packed in plastic covers, along with two portions of the substance and 20 vape fillings containing liquid.
The packages were sent to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) for analysis.
