Big beautiful wave in turquoise water.
Weather officials have issued a High Surf Advisory for Anguilla, warning residents and visitors of potentially dangerous ocean conditions beginning this afternoon and continuing through Wednesday night.
The advisory warns that waves could reach heights of 8 to 11 feet along the island’s coastlines, creating hazardous conditions for beachgoers and coastal residents. Strong rip currents are expected to accompany the high surf, posing significant risks to swimmers and water sports enthusiasts.
Officials are urging the public to stay away from northern-facing coastlines during the advisory period and to avoid swimming unless lifeguards are present.
Particular caution is advised near rocky shores and low-lying coastal areas, where wave action could create additional dangers.
