CMC – The president of the main opposition United Workers Party (UWP), Lennox Linton, has resigned from the position, the UWP leader, Dr Thomson Fontaine has confirmed.
He said that Linton, who once served as opposition leader and UWP leader, gave no reasons for his resignation.
Party officials said that Linton, 68, had submitted his letter of resignation to the party’s general secretary Nicholas George.
Linton was elected as UWP president in December 2024. He was first elected as the parliamentary representative for the Marigot constituency on December 8, 2014 and served as Opposition Leader until the December 6, 2022 snap general election.
Linton also served as the UWP leader from September 1, 2013 until his resignation on October 3, 2022.
