Sir Turtle’s Sky Brew, Caribbean’s first inflight craft beer.

In a first for Caribbean aviation, Cayman Airways passengers can now enjoy a locally-brewed craft beer designed specifically for high-altitude consumption as the carrier introduces “Sir Turtle’s Sky Brew” on its international routes.

The carrier developed the custom brew through a partnership with the Cayman Islands Brewery, known as Caybrew. According to the airline, leadership teams from both companies conducted tasting sessions on the ground and in the air over recent months to establish the best blend for consumption at 30,000 feet, noting that dry air and lower pressure on airplanes impact the sense of taste while inflight.

The beer is described as an India Pale Ale that has been adjusted to deliver what the companies call “a uniquely smooth and refreshing character carefully adjusted to shine at cruising altitude.”

“We are proud to partner with Caybrew on this exciting initiative that not only enhances the in-flight experience, but also further showcases the uniquely Caymanian travel experience that only Cayman Airways offers,” said Paul Tibbetts, the airline’s Executive Vice President for Commercial Affairs and Chief Financial Officer.

Tibbetts also referenced the airline’s existing partnership with Cayman Spirits Company for its complimentary Seven Fathoms Rum Punch service. “Just as our complimentary rum punch has become a signature part of the Cayman Airways experience, Sky Brew represents another authentic celebration of local talent and craftsmanship, offering our passengers a unique taste of Cayman before they even land,” he said.

According to Tibbetts, the initiative reflects Cayman Airways’ commitment to promoting local partnerships and delivering a distinctly Caymanian travel experience.

Mark Haring, Caybrew Brand Manager, said the brewery developed Sky Brew with attention to flavor and altitude. “As a proud Caymanian brewery, we are delighted to collaborate with Cayman Airways to craft Sky Brew – an exclusive brew that captures the essence of our islands in every sip,” Haring said.

“This partnership is a tribute to Cayman’s rich tradition of craftsmanship, warm hospitality, and dynamic entrepreneurial spirit, bringing a true taste of home to the skies,” he added.

The beer became available on flights beginning May 22, 2025. Adult passengers aged 18 and over can receive one complimentary Sky Brew on international jet flights for a limited time, with additional purchases available at $6 each.

Cayman Airways has operated as the national airline of the Cayman Islands since 1968. The carrier provides year-round international Boeing 737-8 service between Grand Cayman and Miami, Tampa, New York, Los Angeles, Kingston, Havana, La Ceiba, and Panama, with seasonal service to Denver and Montego Bay. Its Express division operates domestic flights between Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman using Saab 340B+ and De Havilland DH6 Twin Otter aircraft.
