Authorities have confiscated a quantity of drugs and syringes during an undercover operation targeting illegal medical establishments in Antigua.

The weekend raid, conducted by Director of Pharmaceutical Services Alfred Athill and his team in collaboration with the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda, targeted unauthorized facilities that have been administering unregulated treatments, including the illegal injection of Ozempic.

Over the weekend, one such illegal establishment was targeted resulting in the confiscation of a quantity of drugs and syringes, some of which were pre-filled with suspected substances intended for unauthorized medical treatments.

One individual was detained for questioning in connection with the operation and was subsequently released pending further investigation.

The Royal Police Force continues to pursue inquiries into the matter as part of an ongoing crackdown on illegal medical practices across the island.
