Canadian jazz singer and pianist Diana Krall will return to Prague this autumn, performing at the Prague Congress Center on October 17.

Known for her distinctive voice and elegant piano style, Krall has built a career that bridges jazz traditions with mainstream appeal.
She is a two-time Grammy Award winner and has received ten Juno Awards in her native Canada. Eight of her albums debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Jazz Albums chart, earning nine gold, three platinum, and seven multi-platinum certifications worldwide.
Jazz Times described her as “one of the finest interpreters of classic jazz and pop songs,” while NPR highlighted her ability to blend sophisticated jazz sensibilities with a timeless style.
Born in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Krall started piano lessons at age four and was playing jazz in local clubs by 15. Encouraged by her father, who collected recordings by Fats Waller, James P. Johnson and Earl Hines, she immersed herself in the genre’s early masters. “I think my dad had every record Fats Waller ever made,” Krall once said.
Krall’s breakthrough came in 1999 with When I Look in Your Eyes, her first album for Verve Records, which spent 52 weeks atop the Billboard Jazz chart, won two Grammys, and went platinum in both the U.S. and Canada. Subsequent albums such as The Look of Love and Turn Up the Quiet cemented her international reputation. She has also recorded with Tony Bennett, including the Gershwin-themed Love Is Here to Stay.
Her most recent studio release, This Dream of You (2020), was completed as a tribute to LiPuma. It includes material from their final sessions together and served as the basis for Autumn in New York, a short film directed by photographer Mark Seliger that visually interprets Krall’s performance.
Beyond her solo work, Krall’s voice and arrangements have appeared on film soundtracks and in collaborations with artists such as Paul McCartney and Barbra Streisand. She continues to tour globally, performing at leading jazz festivals and concert halls across North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
