Zagreb’s popular Advent has once again earned international recognition, this time again from CNN, which has listed Croatia’s capital among the best Christmas markets in the world for 2025.

CNN praised Zagreb’s festive charm, describing it as “a magical sight” and noting the city’s unique atmosphere during the holiday season.

The network highlighted why Zagreb has previously been voted the “Best Christmas Market Destination” three years in a row in the European Best Destinations poll.

According to CNN, Advent in Zagreb features around 25 different Christmas markets spread throughout the city, offering visitors an enchanting mix of experiences, from live Nativity scenes and ice sculpture carvings to outdoor concerts, pop-up bars, and even a Christmas tram complete with Santa and his elves.

A particular highlight, CNN noted, is the area dedicated to “fooling around” (or fuliranje), where locals and visitors gather to dance in the streets, enjoy street food, and take in live entertainment in a lively, cheerful atmosphere.
