DUBROVNIK, 11 June 2026 – Dubrovnik has recorded strong growth in visitors from the United States, continuing a positive trend seen across Croatia as American interest in the country remains on the rise.

According to official figures, Dubrovnik welcomed 58,648 visitors from the United States between the start of the year and 3 June, representing a 12% increase compared with the same period last year, Grad Dubrovnik confirmed in a statement.

During the same period, American visitors generated 161,696 overnight stays, up 13% year-on-year. The US market currently ranks second in Dubrovnik by overnight stays, behind only the United Kingdom.

The latest figures follow broader growth in American travel to Croatia. Industry data indicates that arrivals from the United States to Croatia were up 9% by May compared with the same period in 2025.

The results underline Dubrovnik’s continued appeal among American travellers, who are increasingly choosing the city for its cultural and historical heritage, natural attractions, gastronomy, safety and year-round tourism offer.

Air connectivity continues to play an important role in supporting growth. United Airlines has maintained its direct service between Dubrovnik and New York (Newark), operating daily flights from the beginning of May until the end of September. Four weekly flights are scheduled during October.

Available data shows that around 5% more seats are being offered on the route this year compared with the previous season.

United Airlines has also reported strong demand on the Dubrovnik–Newark route. Since daily operations resumed on 1 May, passenger numbers on the service have increased by 21% compared with the same period last year.

Positive trends are also being recorded at Dubrovnik Airport. The airport has welcomed 5.8% more passengers in 2026 than during the corresponding period in 2025. Passenger traffic in May alone increased by 5.6%, while flight operations have continued to grow month by month.

Dubrovnik Mayor Mato Franković said the continued increase in arrivals from the United States demonstrates the city’s strengthening position in one of its most important long-haul tourism markets.

He said the growth reflects increasing recognition of Dubrovnik’s cultural heritage, safety, authenticity and quality tourism offer, while direct air links further improve accessibility and support the city’s development as a year-round destination.

The City of Dubrovnik said it will continue working with the Dubrovnik Tourist Board, Dubrovnik Airport and national tourism institutions to strengthen the city’s international visibility and support the development of sustainable, high-quality tourism throughout the year.
