September the 4th, 2025 – Radiochirurgia Zagreb has introduced ultra-modern robotic surgery. Meet the amazing Da Vinci system.
As Sinisa Malus/Poslovni Dnevnik writes, Radiochirurgia Zagreb, a specialised hospital for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, has introduced the most modern robotic surgery system yet – the Da Vinci in the field of general – abdominal and thoracic surgery. The Da Vinci robotic system is the absolute pinnacle of technological development in minimally invasive surgery. Its introduction places this institution alongside the leading European centres in the field of robotic-assisted surgery.
This is the third generation of this modern device from the company Intuitive, whose innovative technology allows surgeons to have greater precision, better visibility and maximum control when performing complex procedures. The system with “dual console” functionality also allows two surgeons to work simultaneously, which significantly improves precision and provides additional safety for patients.
Professor Dragan Schwarz, Director of Radiochirurgia Zagreb, emphasised that the step into robotic surgery is a logical step for the institution. “It follows the hospital’s philosophy of continuous investment in cutting-edge technology and knowledge. We’re constantly investing in the advanced diagnostics, surgical, robotic and radiosurgical treatment of cancer, as well as other serious diseases. In everything we do, we open up access to the most modern methods for our patients, the extremely advanced use of artificial intelligence, and we’re particularly proud of our innovative approach in using all these technological possibilities at our disposal,” said Schwarz.
He added that this is just a continuation of continuous investments in advanced technologies: “By introducing the Da Vinci system, we’re further confirming the position of Radiochirurgia Zagreb as one of the centres of excellence for cancer treatment in the region.”
The Radiochirurgia Zagreb Special Hospital otherwise recently became the first European member of the global Cleveland Clinic Connected programme. It entered the programme after a detailed and complex review of its safety, quality and patient experience standards. The Cleveland Clinic Connected programme was designed to provide hospitals around the world with access to the clinical and operational knowledge of one of the most famous healthcare systems in the world.
