October the 28th, 2025 – The famed and much loved Pag cheese may soon be set to grace the shelves of stores in Brazil, Latin America’s largest economy.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, Pag cheese could soon be on the shelves of various stores over in Brazil. This information comes following the recent visit made there by Martina Pernar Škunca, the marketing manager at the Pag Cheese Factory (Sirana) and president of the Pag Cheese Producers Association. She is also a member of the Women’s Committee of the Croatian Chamber of Agriculture to Brazil and her recent Brazil visit was part of an official visit by a delegation from the EU agri-food sector led by the Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Christophe Hansen.
“We at Pag cheese were invited to come as part of this business delegation after members of the HPK participated in the EU Parliament’s conference of Mediterranean farmers on the future of agriculture and the new CAP back in May. Back then, we presented Pag cheese to the EU Commissioner for Agriculture, which was also the reason for this invite to visit Brazil,” the HPK announced.
Every year, the EU Commissioner for Agriculture organises the appearance of various European national organisations of producers and companies from all EU Member States with export potential to attend one of the fairs somewhere the world. Third countries with great export potential are often also involved. The selection of business representatives takes into account the balance of the offered products and the geographical balance of the delegation, while the level of representation of the candidate is also a criterion.
Brazil is otherwise the largest economy in Latin America and by far the largest economy of the four Mercosur countries with an enormous 220 million consumers.
The fact that Pag cheese could soon be being sold on shelves in Brazil is fantastic for one of Croatia’s most beloved local products that has already won hearts and taste buds across the world.
