A dramatic morning unfolded in Zagreb skies today when a Eurowings aircraft was forced to request an emergency landing shortly after 8 a.m.
According to Dnevnik.hr, smoke was detected in the cabin, prompting the crew to initiate emergency procedures.
The situation led to an immediate request for a priority landing at Zagreb’s Franjo Tuđman International Airport.
Airport spokesperson Lidija Capković Martinek confirmed that the aircraft landed safely on the runway, stressing that there was no danger to passengers, crew, or airport infrastructure.
“In line with prescribed procedures, a local emergency landing protocol was activated. The aircraft landed safely, and there was no threat to passengers, crew, or infrastructure,” Capković Martinek told Dnevnik.hr.
Emergency services were placed on alert as a precaution but were not required to intervene. All passengers and crew disembarked safely.
