Croatian global AI-first cloud communications platform Infobip has been ranked 16th in Fortune’s Europe’s Most Innovative Companies 2026 list, marking a significant rise from its position of 68th last year.

The announcement was made at the VivaTech technology conference in Paris VivaTech, where Europe’s leading innovators were recognised for their achievements in technology, product development and organisational innovation.

The annual ranking, produced by Fortune in partnership with Statista, evaluates companies based on innovation culture, product advancement and process improvement. Infobip’s strong rise reflects growing momentum behind its AI-first strategy, including the development of its new Infobip AgentOS platform, designed to orchestrate autonomous, AI-driven customer communication journeys at scale.

The company is also strengthening its role in European digital infrastructure through its participation in the Important Project of Common European Interest for Next Generation Cloud Infrastructure and Services (IPCEI-CIS) IPCEI-CIS. The initiative brings together 12 EU member states and more than 100 companies to develop interoperable cloud and edge solutions aimed at enhancing Europe’s digital sovereignty and competitiveness.

Within the project, Infobip is contributing to the development of a next-generation cloud communications platform combining AI-powered services, secure data exchange and interoperable communication capabilities.

Speaking on the recognition, Infobip CEO Silvio Kutić said the ranking reflects the company’s long-term commitment to innovation.

“As we mark our 20th year, we are very proud to be on Fortune’s list of Most Innovative Companies in Europe. We have spent years building the infrastructure that enterprises trust, with innovative technology that works for our customers. This recognition tells us we are on the right track,” he said.

Fortune’s Lists Director for Europe, Grethe Schepers, noted that the ranking highlights companies driving real-world impact across industries, from manufacturing and energy to healthcare and technology.

Founded in 2006 in the small Istrian town of Vodnjan, Infobip has grown from a startup into Croatia’s first tech unicorn. Today, the company operates across more than 75 offices on six continents, while maintaining its global headquarters in Vodnjan.
