Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić Radman met with South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun during his official visit to Seoul, where the two sides discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation across a number of strategic sectors.
The meeting focused on further developing the comprehensive and future-oriented partnership between Croatia and South Korea, with particular emphasis on economic cooperation, the defence industry, trade, energy, port logistics, new technologies and stronger business connectivity.
According to the Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, the talks also explored ways to improve links between Croatian and Korean companies and encourage greater economic exchange between the two countries.
Particular attention was given to potential cooperation between the Port of Rijeka and the Port of Busan, which were described as strategic gateways with strong potential to enhance connectivity, trade flows and logistics links between the European Union and East Asia.
The ministers also agreed to work towards a memorandum of understanding on public safety. The proposed agreement would establish a policy framework aimed at enabling citizens of both countries to travel more safely between Croatia and South Korea.
The meeting forms part of ongoing efforts by both countries to deepen political and economic cooperation and strengthen ties in areas of shared strategic interest.
