Shamed former Ashfield District Council leader Jason Zadrozny linked to Blackpool drag venue ownership

Shamed Ashfield politician Jason Zadrozny has been revealed as being one of the new owners behind a popular Blackpool drag venue.

The disgraced former leader of Ashfield District Council is currently facing a possible prison term after being found guilty of nine fraud offences and four income tax evasion offences following the conclusion of his trial last month.

Jason Zadrozny is the co-founder and director of The Good Company Group, which has been connected to the Iconic Blackpool drag venue Funny Girls following its sale by retiring local businessman Basil Newby in May.

Following the verdict Zadrozny (46) was warned by the judge that he was ‘at risk of an immediate custodial sentence’.

It has since emerged that shameless Zadrozny is now involved in the ownership of the iconic Funny Girls nightspot in the seaside town through The Good Company Group, which he is the co-founder and director of.

The popular venue, located on Dickson Road, changed ownership back in May following the sale and retirement of local businessman Basil Newby.

The burlesque cabaret bar is described as the ‘ultimate hen do show’ with the cast composed of male dancers and drag performers.

Zadrozny, of Sutton Road, Kirkby, was found to have defrauded Nottinghamshire County Council out of thousands of pounds after inventing fake heritage societies and then pocketing the cash.

The court heard that £9,100 was withdrawn in cash from the Ashfield Heritage Society account, while £1,200 was withdrawn from the Classic Cinema Club account.

Zadrozny, a former member of the Liberal Democrats, stood as a candidate for the party in Ashfield at the 2010 general election, but came second to the Labour candidate by less than 200 votes.

He then went on to contest the 2019 and 2024 general elections as an independent candidate
