The President of the Republic, Paul BIYA, left Yaounde early this afternoon, on Sunday, 7 June 2026, in the company of his wife, Mrs. Chantal BIYA, for a brief private stay in Europe.

With health rumors intensifying and opposition lawmakers urging the Constitutional Council to formally declare a power vacancy, the ruling RDPC party continues to insist that government operations remain fully functional.
