Adnkronos, CNA sign profesisonal partnership to strengthen media ties

LIMBE — The Cameroon News Agency (CNA) and Italy’s Adnkronos Information Agency have entered into a cooperation agreement to exchange news content and strengthen media ties between the two nations.

The agreement, signed on April 3, 2026, establishes a professional framework for the sharing of text, photo, and video materials to promote objective reporting on political, economic, and cultural issues.

Strategic Information Exchange

Under the terms of the deal, both agencies will grant each other access to their respective news services.

  • Adnkronos will provide CNA with up-to-date coverage of events in the Italian Republic and international news through its Italian language service.
  • CNA will offer Adnkronos access to its reporting on Cameroon and other regions via its Italian, English, and Arabic language platforms.

The parties have agreed to a reciprocal arrangement allowing for two individual access logins each to their respective information resources.

Operational Guidelines

The agreement permits both agencies to publish and distribute each other’s content in its original or derived form, including translations. Each agency retains the discretion to repost news across social media platforms, including Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube, provided that active hyperlinks and proper source credits are maintained.

Key administrative provisions of the agreement include:

  • Journalistic Assistance: Both parties intend to provide all possible support to journalists from the partner agency operating within their respective territories.
  • Confidentiality: A strict non-disclosure policy applies to access credentials and proprietary information.
  • Data Protection: Each agency remains an independent data controller, with the exchange strictly limited to editorial content rather than personal databases.

Partnership Duration

The agreement was executed by Nfor Hanson Nchanji, Executive Editor of CNA, and Angela Antonini Marra, CEO of Adnkronos. The partnership is valid for 12 months and will automatically extend by one year unless either party initiates a review or provides a 30-day written notice of termination.

“We are always on the lookout for such professional partnerships. One cannot operate in isolation. Sometimes we face difficulties discussing issues out of Cameroon; when you have such a partner, it makes things easy as you can authoritatively post a story knowing well that all issues,, such as copyrights, among others, are covered.” Nfor Hanson said after the agreement was finalised.

“This brings the total to five international partners we have gotten so far”, he revealed.

The collaboration aims to enhance mutual understanding and information flows between the people of Cameroon and the Italian Republic.
