Thai authorities deported 96 Cambodian nationals, including 14 women and 4 children, through the Poipet International Border Checkpoint yesterday.
Poipet International Border Immigration Police Post chief Major General Yi Chamroeun confirmed that Cambodian authorities provided returnees with food and bottled water upon arrival.
The deportees included undocumented migrant workers, undocumented vendors from the Rong Kluea Market in Thailand and individuals who crossed the border illegally after being deceived by human traffickers.
Following preliminary questioning by competent authorities, the returnees were transported by vehicle to the Poipet transit centre to prepare for safe travel back to their home provinces.
