Police arrested a man for murder after an argument over a stolen electrical cable in Kampot province.

The incident took place at Techo Anlong Keng Klang village, Techo Thonburi commune, Chhouk district, on Monday at 3.00pm.

A group of unidentified individuals attacked the victim, Nop Chanrith, causing him to die at the scene.

On Tuesday, at 9.50pm, specialised forces arrested Phal Nim at O’Teuek Thla village, Ta Sen commune, Kam Rieng district, Battambang province.

The suspect confessed to the murder because the victim had stolen his mother’s electric wire, and there had been a dispute with him in the past.

The suspect remains in custody pending further legal proceedings.
