The 2026 “Clean Phnom Penh” campaign will take place on November 27 at the National Olympic Stadium under the theme “Clean Mind, Clean Khmer, for the Sake of Cambodia”, aiming to encourage public participation in environmental protection, proper waste disposal and urban cleanliness while promoting positive thinking and inner peace.
The campaign, officially launched on November 4, is an educational initiative focusing on environmental protection, waste management, proper rubbish disposal and urban aesthetics. It introduces an action plan based on three core concepts: Clean Practices, Clean Mind and Clean Behaviour.
Hun Many, Minister of Civil Service, said the campaign was established to promote environmental well-being and raise public awareness of the challenges caused by improper waste disposal.
He said the 2026 campaign was being organised in line with the “Clean Cambodia” action plan and guided by the slogan, “Cultivate a habit of clean thinking—for yourself, your family and Cambodia.”
The initiative places particular emphasis on public awareness, encouraging people to develop a positive mindset, cultivate inner peace and adopt responsible environmental practices.
The campaign will bring together youth groups, government ministries and institutions, and private-sector representatives to expand public knowledge of environmental issues and promote proper waste management habits.
Organisers expect about 4,000 participants to attend the November 27 event, which will include a meditation session and a Dhamma talk delivered by Venerable Kou Sopheap.
The campaign also seeks to encourage business owners to maintain hygiene and reduce plastic use in workplaces and everyday life.
