Cambodia’s Ambassador to South Korea, Khuon Phon Rattanak, met with a delegation from Grand Eye Hospital to discuss cooperation on providing free eye examinations for Cambodian workers and members of the Cambodian community living in South Korea.
The meeting was held at the Cambodian Embassy in Seoul, with the hospital delegation led by Dr Lee Young Seop, Chief Executive Officer.
The hospital specialises in eye care, offering examinations and treatment for various eye conditions, including cataracts, retinal diseases and glaucoma, as well as surgical procedures for different eye conditions.
During the meeting, Dr Lee expressed the hospital’s interest in working with the Cambodian Embassy to help address eye health concerns among the Cambodian community.
The proposed cooperation includes providing free eye examinations and interpretation services to help Cambodian nationals who face language barriers when accessing medical care.
Ambassador Phon Rattanak welcomed the initiative and encouraged the hospital to explore opportunities to participate in major activities organised by the embassy, allowing more members of the Cambodian community to benefit from eye examinations.
He also suggested the possibility of organising humanitarian missions, with volunteer medical teams travelling to rural areas in Cambodia to provide eye examinations and treatment to local communities.
