Following four consecutive days of marking examination papers and tabulating results, the civil servant recruitment examination committee announced on November 1 that 2,404 candidates had qualified for contract-based primary school teaching positions for the 2026–2027 academic year.
A total of 20,246 candidates sat the examination, competing for 2,844 available positions.
The committee selected 2,404 successful candidates, while the remaining more than 400 positions will be filled by reserve candidates ranked according to their examination scores.
The process of tabulating scores and finalising results was directly overseen by Hun Many, Minister of Civil Service, with the participation of a Secretary of State from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, representatives of the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) and other relevant stakeholders.
As with previous examinations for permanent civil service positions, the recruitment process for contract-based teachers followed the principles of meritocracy, transparency, fairness, efficiency and inclusivity, in line with the policy of “selecting the right person for the right job and ensuring their retention”.
The ACU participated as an observer throughout every stage of the process, from the examination and marking of answer sheets to the compilation and finalisation of results.
