Mohammad Shukri bin Haji Damit has been re-elected as President of the Brunei Darussalam Teqball Association (BDTA) for the 2026–2028 term, continuing his leadership as the national association enters its next phase of organisational and sporting development.
Following his re-election, Mohammad Shukri outlined three key priorities for the Association over the next two years, focusing on strengthening internal processes, expanding national competitions and talent identification, and strengthening the committee.
The first priority centres on improving the Association’s internal processes, administration and overall governance. As the Association continues to grow, it plans to establish clearer operating procedures, improve coordination among committee members, strengthen documentation and adopt a more structured approach to managing programmes, competitions and athletes.
The second priority is to increase the number of national Teqball tournaments organised throughout Brunei Darussalam. These competitions will be integrated with the Brunei National Pointing System, giving athletes more opportunities to compete, accumulate ranking points and demonstrate consistent performances at national level.
The system will also provide the Association with a clearer and more objective mechanism for identifying active and high-performing athletes who have the potential to progress into national development programmes and future international representation. A more consistent competition calendar is expected to encourage greater participation and raise the overall competitive standard of Teqball in the country.
The third priority focuses on bringing more committed members into the Association’s committee and operational structure. With Teqball activities continuing to expand, the Association aims to build a broader team to support tournament operations, athlete development, administration, refereeing, marketing, sponsorship, media, logistics and grassroots development.

The Association also intends to create more opportunities for individuals interested in contributing their skills, experience and time towards the development of Teqball in Brunei Darussalam.
Speaking following his re-election, Mohammad Shukri said the Association’s focus for the next two years would be on strengthening its internal foundation while creating more opportunities for athletes to compete and develop.
He added that the Association’s long-term objective remains centred on developing a sustainable national Teqball ecosystem that supports athletes from grassroots participation through to high-performance competition.
The Brunei Darussalam Teqball Association will continue working with athletes, schools, sporting organisations, government stakeholders, sponsors and the wider community to increase participation and strengthen the sport’s presence in Brunei Darussalam.
With the 2026–2028 committee term now underway, the Association will begin implementing its priorities through improved organisational processes, an expanded national competition calendar and stronger committee participation.
