Exhibition of Student Works on the Anniversary of the Sarajevo Assassination opens in Sarajevo

The exhibition of student works of the International Burch University – Department of Graphic Design and Multimedia – on the topic of the Sarajevo assassination was opened today in the Sarajevo 1878-1918 Museum.

Fifteen students participate with their art solutions in this exhibition, among them the winner of that project assignment, Merjem Višća.

Professor Ljubomir Todorović from IBU pointed out at the opening that it was particularly interesting to see how the young generation views such a significant event that resonated throughout the world.

He emphasized that this is one of the examples of how young people successfully realize their ideas, which helps them in their professional development and brings benefits to the entire community.

The director of the Museum of Sarajevo, Indira Kučuk-Sorguč, pointed out that the students approached the task very professionally and innovatively, with a lot of ingenuity and reflectivity.

She added that it was difficult to choose a winner because everyone showed great creativity and interest in delving deeply into the topic of the Sarajevo assassination.

The exhibition “Sarajevo assassination – 112 years later” is the result of institutional cooperation between the International Burch University, the Museum of Sarajevo and the Sarajevo VRX Museum.

Students of the Faculty of Education and Humanities, Department of Graphic Design and Multimedia, had the task of creating an official poster – a visual for the annual commemoration of the assassination of the Austro-Hungarian heir to the throne Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sofia, which was carried out by Gavrilo Princip in Sarajevo on June 28, 1914.

The exhibition will be open from June 27 to July 7 at the Sarajevo 1878-1918 Museum.
