Our Party President Sabina Ćudić and BiH Minister of Communications and Transport Edin Forto held a meeting today with US Ambassador John Ginkel and Director of the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Mark Fleming on the Southern Interconnection.
Ćudić stated that during that meeting they agreed that the construction of the Southern Gas Interconnection is a common strategic interest of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United States.
She added that ‘we can ensure a more secure gas supply to the citizens of all of Bosnia and Herzegovina through diversification of sources, and with American investment we are also building long-term guarantees of regional stability’.
Ćudić emphasized that Our Party’s support for this project is clear, which is confirmed by their active participation in the drafting of the Law on Southern Interconnection and their insistence on its implementation.
“At the same time, we will not tolerate attempts by any actors within BiH to block this or other infrastructure projects in order to achieve narrow-party political goals.
“Such action is a sure way to undermine a project that is important for the energy security and economic development of the country,” said Ćudić, according to a statement from Our Party.
