Marjorie Taylor Greene Tears Into Trump After ‘Nothing’ Speech

Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) panned President Donald Trump’s unfocused speech on Wednesday night as he attempted to justify his war with Iran.

“I wanted so much for President Trump to put America First. That’s what I believed he would do,” Greene, a former MAGA ally who has since turned on the president, wrote on X. “All I heard from his speech tonight was WAR WAR WAR.”

Trump in his televised prime-time address didn’t offer a timeline or clear plan for ending the war and suggested that the month of war so far was short compared with World War I, World War II, Vietnam and other major conflicts.

The speech caused crude oil futures to jump and stock markets to dip.

But it wasn’t just the lack of clarity on the war that struck Greene.

It was everything else the president failed to mention.

“Nothing to lower the cost of living for Americans.
Nothing to reduce our near $40 trillion in debt.
Nothing to save Social Security, which goes bankrupt in just a few years.
Nothing to lower the cost of insurance.
Nothing to address jobs for Americans.
Nothing about education for our children.
Nothing about our children’s future.
Nothing for America’s future.”

“I’m so beyond done,” she wrote, ending with a prayer for the military, for peace, and for “innocent people all over the world.”

Greene was for years a far-right conspiracy theorist and a key member of Trump’s inner circle. She was often at his side at major events, and delivered a speech on his behalf at the 2024 Republican National Convention

However, the two had a falling out last year, apparently over Greene’s support for the full release of files related to late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who was once close friends with Trump.

The president dismissed the files as a “Democrat hoax,” and attacked Greene as “Marjorie Traitor Greene” over her support for their release.

Greene ultimately apologized for her role in what she called “toxic politics,” resigned from Congress and said that MAGA “was all a lie.”
