Conservatives flipped out on social media Monday after the Department of Homeland Security claimed that Hilton Hotels & Resorts left “NO ROOM AT THE INN” for federal immigration agents at a location near Minneapolis, Minn.
In a post to X, DHS accused the chain of launching a “coordinated campaign” to cancel agents’ reservations after they attempted to book rooms using government email addresses and special rates.
“We have noticed an influx of [government] reservations made today that have been for DHS, and we are not allowing any ICE or immigration agents to stay at our property,” per an alleged email that was included as an attached screenshot.
The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement account also shared a screenshot of a purported cancellation email on X. The posts were published as the Trump administration reportedly began to deploy thousands of agents to the Minneapolis area.
Protests have previously popped up at Hilton properties suspected of housing immigration agents in the area.
Hilton told HuffPost that the hotel in question — Hampton Inn by Hilton Lakeville — is independently owned and operated. The company added that its hotels “serve as welcoming places for all,” and the actions highlighted in the emails “are not reflective of Hilton values.” The chain added that it is investigating the matter with the Minneapolis-area location.
Everpeak Hospitality, which operates the Minneapolis-area hotel, told multiple media outlets that the actions were “inconsistent with our policy of being a welcoming place for all.”
The price of Hilton shares dropped about 2% in the wake of the Homeland Security post, CNBC reported.

MAGA world lost it over the alleged cancellations, with one X user declaring that it was “Time to Bud Light Hilton,” a reference to right-wing backlash over the beer brand’s partnership with TikToker Dylan Mulvaney.
Right-wing influencer Gunther Eagleman wrote, “You all fcked up,” before similarly calling for a boycott. In other posts to X, @AmericanPapaBear stated that the chain “just made the biggest mistake they ever could,” while @TheBirdWords claimed to have cancelled their Hilton Honors card as a result.
