Rep. Addison McDowell (R-N.C.) just issued a deadly threat to Iran should they refuse to negotiate with President Donald Trump.

Appearing Thursday on Newsmax’s “Wake Up America,” the Republican congressman said the U.S. will turn Iran into a “parking lot” if the country fails to bargain with the president.

McDowell argued that during former President Joe Biden’s term, “No one was afraid of America,” adding that Iran “bullied us.”

“What we had for the last four years before President Trump was back in office was massive weakness … [Iran] tried to take advantage of us,” he said in a clip obtained by Mediaite. But peace through strength is back in the White House.”

The North Carolina lawmaker then directly threatened Iran.

“Iran needs to understand something very clearly: If you do not negotiate with the president and you continue to try to kill American troops, and build bombs, and build missiles that you’re going to use to attempt to kill Americans, we will turn you into a parking lot.”

The U.S.-Israel conflict with Iran has continued to escalate since it first kicked off in late February. The U.S. military launched renewed attacks on Iran this week and reinstated a naval blockade on the country in retaliation for Tehran’s attacks on ships attempting to travel through the Strait of Hormuz.

Amid the strikes, the Iranian military has warned the Strait of Hormuz is an “unbreakable red line” and that it will not allow the U.S. to “interfere” with operations there.

Trump said Wednesday that Iran wants to meet and solidify a deal following his threats to hit Tehran “hard.” The same day, Trump said he wasn’t concerned with reaching a ceasefire deal to stop the war.

“I don’t want to negotiate now. I said, ‘Let’s not negotiate,’” Trump told Fox News chief foreign correspondent Trey Yingst after he was asked if he was negotiating with the “wrong people.”

McDowell then claimed that because “Iran has no navy, they cannot control the Strait of Hormuz.”

“We’re not going to let them. They need to understand who holds all the cards. They might try to push the envelope, but we’re driving the mail truck, and we’ll run them over,” he added.

Elsewhere in the interview, McDowell accused Iran of being “untethered to reality.”

“I think it’s very important to realize for the Iranians that these Middle Eastern countries, they might be a stick and Iran might be the carrot, but we are a tree, and we will absolutely swing a bat at them, if they’re not careful.”

The congressman added, “Because what we’re not going to do is we’re never going to allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon because we know they will use it.”
