Vice President JD Vance on Monday shared photos of his training with the Navy SEALs in Coronado, California. He jogged on the beach, helped carry a log, climbed netting and looked patriotic in front of a flag ― but some critics advised the veep to focus his efforts elsewhere.
“Nice cosplay as a Navy SEAL,” one wrote. “Leadership isn’t about photo ops, it’s about fixing the mess at home.”
“A desperate photo op for a Vice President who cares more about his military ‘aesthetic’ than actually governing,” another sneered.
Vance, a Marine veteran, said on X that the Navy’s elite warrior SEALs, who must pass extremely difficult testing, “took it easy on me and I still feel like I got hit by a freight train.”
“GI Jello,” as one X user called Vance, got hit with some negative comments, too.
