California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) revealed on the latest episode of the “Jack Cocchiarella Show” that his 9-year-old son recently called Donald Trump on the president’s personal cellphone number.
When host Jack Cocchiarella asked Newsom to recall “the last thing Trump said to you,” Newsom said the president had told him, “‘Use this number anytime,’” explaining the president had given him his direct line.
Newsom joked to Cocchiarella that Trump would probably answer if they called right then, but then backed away from doing it.
His youngest son, Dutch, however, nearly followed through, said the father of four.
The governor and potential 2028 Democratic presidential candidate, who has not shied away from trolling Trump in recent months, explained:
“My kids, by the way, tried to do that the other day, and they weren’t even kidding around. You know what they were looking for? Mr. Beast’s number, which, strangely, I had. And they got so excited, and they’re just like, ‘Do you have Trump’s number?’ And I literally find … he’s 9 years old … he was literally pushing, and I’m like, ‘Oh God.’”
“So there’s a missed phone call to Trump, from Dutch, my little guy,” he said. “Anyway, that’s another conversation.”
