Rapper Nicki Minaj over the weekend shared an image of a gift she said came from her new pal, President Donald Trump.
But many of her critics raised hell over the nature of that gift: an edition of the Holy Bible, signed by Trump.
“One of the most meaningful gifts I’ve ever received in my entire life,” she wrote on X as she shared an image of the book:
Minaj has publicly embraced Trump in recent months. She appeared at the premiere of “Melania,” the film about first lady Melania Trump, and at a Washington event celebrating the launch of “Trump Accounts” for children:

The gift was a “God Bless The USA Bible,” which is reportedly printed in China and sells for $59.99, unsigned. There is an edition signed by Trump that retails for $1,000, although Minaj’s book appears to be signed just for her, with the president’s bold autograph inscribed across the cover. Trump even included the pen he used.
But many critics were not impressed. Some noted the other places Trump’s signature had appeared ― such as on a now-infamous birthday message Trump reportedly signed for the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who was once his close friend. Trump has insisted that he did not sign the card, which also featured the doodled silhouette of a woman’s body.
Some were not fond of anyone signing the Holy Bible as if they wrote it, and others resented Minaj’s turn toward the right:
woah that signature looks really familiar like it was on some sort of birthday gift

Imagine believing a convicted felon and adjudicated sexual abuser signing a Bible is somehow meaningful.
That’s where we are. https://t.co/az96HMo6Yw

I cannot FATHOM ever putting my signature onto the Word of God.
I cannot FATHOM ever putting my name on the Holy Bible and selling it.

Q: What’s your favorite Bible verse?
Trump: I wouldn’t want to get into it because to me that’s very personal. You know, when I talk about the Bible it’s very personal.
Q: Are you an Old Testament guy or a New Testament guy?
Trump: Uh, probably equal. think it’s just an… https://t.co/K2Y42kkulP pic.twitter.com/s2QOQlqKom
